Students are graded on the following criteria:

Skill (worth 20 points)

Assessment of students skills and strategies related to the activity/unit.

Knowledge (worth 10 points)

Game rules, team strategies, personal wellness concepts.

Personal Relations (worth 10 points)

This includes attitude, leadership, showing respect for classmates and teachers, and showing respect to personal and classroom safety.

Participation (worth 20 points)

Students must have a change of clothes that includes a t-shirt, shorts or sweats and sneakers.

Attendance (worth 40 points)

Grading

Students are allowed and encouraged to make up classes missed due to absences.

How to make up a PE class:

1-Obtain a pre-signed pass from Mrs. McCumber or Mr. Jennings to come to a PE class during their study hall (periods 4, 5, 8, or 9).

2-Complete a written assignment.

For each class missed students can find a sports article from any of the following sports websites (or another one of your choosing), read the article and write a summary on it.  Articles along with summaries must be handed in to your PE teacher before the marking period ends.

**STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO MAKE UP ALL ABSENCES AND ONE UNPREPARED CLASS PER QUARTER.  FAILING TO MAKE UP MISSED CLASSES WILL RESULT IN A POOR GRADE.**

I am a Physical Education teacher and coach and

I am super excited to be joining the Greater Johnstown School District in my tenth year of teaching.  

I am originally from Gloversville but I now reside in Johnstown with my husband and two amazing boys, Cameron 5 and Jase 3.

Colleges I attended: FMCC-Associates in Education

SUNY Brockport-Bachelor's in Physical Education 

Sage Graduate School-Masters in Health Education.

Sports that I have coached-soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball.

Sports that I played while in school; field hockey, basketball, and softball.

Sports and activities I enjoy now-any sport or game my boys want to play and running 5k's.

JON JENNINGS

I have been a physical education teacher and coach for the last 15 years. 

I am originally from Broadalbin-Perth and still reside there with my wife, and three children.  Ava 8, Garrett 6, and Kaitlyn 3.

Colleges I attended: SUNY Cortland-Bachelor's in Physical Education 

University of New England-Masters in Education.

Sports that I have coached-boys and girls soccer, basketball, and baseball.

Sports that I played while in school- soccer and baseball.

Sports and activities that I enjoy now-recently retired softball player, lifting weights, running, and tennis.
